- I was spawned from a very dysfunctional family, non-educated in a dysfunctional school system (Catholic Schools.) I have some depressive and PTSD issues related to this, and I also diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. I'm was probably among the first crop of people in the US to be diagnosed as adults.(1996) I am employed -- underemployed, actually, in the IT field. I don't have a family - they were massacred in a Klingon raid -- actually they were lost, strayed or stolen from me by the storms of family dysfunction.
Greetings People Of Earth
I call this blog "Asperger and Fries" for several reasons. First, I want to say before I go further, that I googled to find in anyone else had used this phrase. I found a post with that title by a fellow Aspie known as the Neuroaster. I asked permission to use this as my blog name, and he gave me the go ahead. Thank you Neuroaster. This blog is of course, about being AS. The "and Fries" is a little nod to my fondness for junk food. It is a reference that so many of us who are AS are underemployed in jobs that often require us to ask if they would like "fries with that." It's also about the fact that this blog will be about more than just Aspergers, but a bunch of other things. Depression, PTSD, childhood abuse and lots of cheerful stuff like that. I'll also muse about politics, culture, society, relationships, and all that other stuff that we AS allegedly don't care about. This is my first attempt at blogging. so it may be a bit uneven at first. OK, I'll tell the truth. What I'm really doing is plotting to organize my fellow Aspies into a secret society to run the world. :-)
